Ricardo A. Caballero, DVM

Medical Director, Veterinarian

Dr. Ricardo A. Caballero is a 1988 graduate. He passed his National Board exams at Texas A&M University College of Veterinary Medicine and continued his training, education, and clinical experience at Purdue University College of Veterinary Medicine in West Lafayette, Indiana. He has worked in the greater Houston and Kingwood areas for several years caring for small animals.

Dr. Caballero has a diverse background in canine and feline veterinary medicine. He has strong interests in wellness care, as well as emergency medicine, critical care, laser surgery, cold laser therapy, and alternative herbal cancer therapy.
He is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) and an active member of the Veterinary Emergency and Critical care society (VECCS). Dr. Caballero also holds additional memberships in the Harris County Veterinary Medicine Association (HCVMA), the Association of Feline Practitioners, and the Texas Veterinary Medical Association (TVMA).

Dr. Caballero values his relationships with his clients and patients, and he treats each pet as if they were his own. Dr. Caballero looks forward to providing quality care for you and your four-legged family members.

James West, DVM

Associate Veterinarian

Dr. West is an Associate Veterinarian at Cypress Veterinary Hospital. He graduated from Texas A&M University of Veterinary Medicine in 2016 and came to work at Cypress Veterinary Hospital in early 2019.

He has a strong background in wellness and primary care with an interest in feline medicine. He is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA), Texas Veterinary Medical Association (TVMA), and Harris County Veterinary Medicine Association (HCVMA).

In his downtime, Dr. West appreciates reading, painting, and playing games with friends. He lives with his one cat, Tempest, who asks for more than enough attention from him.

Erin Richards, DVM

Associate Veterinarian

Dr. Erin Richards is an associate veterinarian at Cypress Veterinary Hospital. She completed both her undergraduate and veterinary education at Texas A&M University, earning her Bachelor’s Degree in 2015 and her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 2019. She joined the team at Cypress Veterinary Hospital in early 2020. Her professional interests include client education, feline medicine, internal medicine, and soft tissue surgery.

Dr. Richards currently resides in Cypress with her husband, a high school social studies teacher. Together they have two cats, Colonel Sanders and Tater Tot, and two dogs, Nellie and Rigby. In her spare time, she enjoys running, camping, spending time with her family in Katy, and cheering on the Aggies and Astros.

Jodi Osgood, LVT

Practice Manager

Jodi has always wanted to work with animals growing up, and she was adamant about pursuing a veterinary career. She started when she was fifteen as a volunteer with her local shelter before attending and graduating with honors from the veterinary technology program at Lone Star College. Jodi passed her exams in 2003 to become a Licensed Veterinary Technician and has spent the last 16 years in a variety of practices. She has worked in small animal medicine, equine medicine, and, more recently, specialty surgical medicine as a surgical scrub and anesthesia technician for a large specialty hospital.

With nearly 20 + years of experience in the veterinary industry, she turned to her second passion - leadership. With lots of experience in leadership rolls over the years, Jodi was very excited to be given the opportunity as a Practice Manager for Cypress Veterinary Hospital.

When not at the hospital, Jodi enjoys her time at home with hubby, Ryan, and their dogs, cats, and a multitude of fish. She likes to write and paint in her spare time; Jodi even has some of her original art hanging in her office.

Angela, CVA

Front Office Manager

Angela began here in February of 2006 as a volunteer after graduating from Penn Foster and becoming a Certified Veterinary Assistant. She was hired in February 2006 and has worked her way to the position of Front Office Manager which she presently holds.

She has 3 children, 2 grandchildren, and five dogs, two of which were acquired from hurricane Ike. She loves her job, always has a smile and is compassionate for all of the pets and clients. During her free time, she enjoys her fitness class, yard work and going to lunch every Thursday with her mother.

Yvette Dupree

Technician Supervisor

Yvette joined Cypress Veterinary Hospital in July 2020 as the Technician Supervisor. She has had years of technical experience in veterinary medicine including small animal medicine, large animal medicine, wildlife rehab, exotic animal medicine, and emergency medicine.
Yvette started in veterinary medicine as a volunteer for the Atlanta Wildlife Animal Rescue effort before continuing to pursue a career in veterinary medicine. She met Dr. Delong, DVM at her local church and was hired for her first veterinary job as an equine technician. She knew she always loved working with animals but on her journey she found that she loved working with people as well. In her spare time Yvette loves spending time with her family including boyfriend Robert, daughter Nadine, son Nehemia and her rescue dog Rudy. Yvette loves to attend church, talk with her family in Atlanta and has a special fondness for her Aloe plants.

Ashley Abrahams, LVT

Inventory Manager

Ashley is one of our newest licensed veterinary technicians and comes to Cypress Veterinary Hospital with many years of experience in multiple high volume hospitals! After receiving her Bachelor’s in Biology, Ashley moved from Denham Springs, LA to Houston, TX to pursue certification through the Veterinary Technician Institute. Ashley looks forward to advancing her career with the help of her friendly team at Cypress Veterinary, and appreciates the culture and work environment. When not at work, you can find Ashley outdoors riding electric bikes, walking, and hiking. She also loves spending time indoors playing video games, listening to guided meditations, and hanging out with her wife and five pets - Buddy, Dudley, Sadie, Bell, and Mr. Magoo!

Tiphanie

Receptionist

Tiphanie is a customer service professional who brings years of experience from a wide array of industries to our front desk team. A Texas native, Tiphanie attended college and graduated with a degree in Mortuary Science which led her to work as a funeral services attendant where she gained valuable experience in helping people through difficult times with compassion and understanding. Tiphanie’s professional experience also includes time spent working at a canine training facility where she learned valuable skills and knowledge about animal behavior. Outside of work, Tiphanie enjoys playing video games, researching horror-genres of entertainment and folklore, and reading books like Stephen King’s The Shining, Linwood Barclay’s A Noise Downstairs, and Paula Hawkins’ The Girl on the Train, as well as spending time with her cats, Ginger and Salem.

Caile Haynes-Chapman

Receptionist

Caile has four years of experience as a customer service representative for several local veterinary clinics before joining the CVH team. Caile has had horses and other animals all her life and she really enjoys working with different species. Her favorite animals to work on are exotics including monkeys, kangaroos, bearded dragons and other lizards.

Caile enjoys spending time with her daughter, especially outdoors. They love going to the pool and having fun adventures together like camping and riding four-wheelers.

Rachel

Hospital Staff

Rachel grew up in Magnolia, TX, and recently graduated from the veterinary technology program at Lone Star College – Tomball. In addition to her education, Rachel spent several years working as a groomer where she learned to comfort pets during the scariest of times – a bath!

Rachel loves being a part of the Cypress Veterinary Hospital team because of how helpful, patient, friendly and knowledgeable her teammates are. When not at work, Rachel enjoys playing video games, reading Harry Potter books, watching YouTube videos, and spending time with her boyfriend and their cats – Hallow, Savannah and Anastasia.

Jennifer Guevara

Hospital Staff

Jennifer joins the CVH team with experience working in multiple high-volume hospitals that helped her gain valuable knowledge while maintaining calm under pressure. SHe enjoys the positive and supportive environment at CVH and looks forward to the ability to grow in her position.

Jennifer enjoys spending time with her family, boyfriend and pets. Her favorite book is "Night" by Elie Wiesel. She currently has Adeline, a 5 year old Pomeranian, and Rosita, a 3 year old Chihuahua.

Frida Rodriguez, CVA

Hospital Staff

Frida is one of the newest additions to our veterinary technician team. After graduating with her Certified Veterinary Assistant license from the P.I.M.A Medical Institute in 2020, Frida worked with a general practice that helped her gain the valuable knowledge and skills she needed to become a technician. Despite loving all aspects of veterinary medicine, she has a true passion for surgery and feline care. Frida is excited to begin working with Cypress Veterinary Hospital because she loves the positive work environment, friendly staff, and the constant opportunity for growth.

A life-long Houstonian, when not at work, Frida enjoys reading books such as Victor Villasenor’s Rain of Gold, Quinn Loftis’ Prince of Wolves, and Sarah J. Maas' A Court of Thorns and Roses, as well as relaxing at home, crocheting, and spending time with her fur-babies which include four cats, Ceviche, Wasabi, Miso, Sushi, and two dogs, Sam and Pancho.

Carlos Juarez

Hospital Staff

Carlos joined the hospital staff at CVH with experience as a veterinary assistant. He attended Veterinary Technical Institute of Houston and graduated in 2017. Along with dogs and cats, Carlos has some experience working on horses, cattle, and some exotics.

Carlos was born in Corpus Christi and moved to Humble, Texas as a kid. He graduated from Humble High School before pursuing a career in veterinary medicine. In his free time he enjoys listening to Comedy, 1990's, and Classic Rock radio. He also loves spending time with his family, playing soccer and video games. Carlos has two dogs, Bandit and Zorro, and three cats, Kiki, Ash, and Fuli.

Lauryn Waggoner

Hospital Staff

Lauryn joined Cypress Veterinary Hospital in early 2021 as a veterinary technician. Bringing five years of technician experience, she has always had a passion for animal health and has spent her life rescuing abandoned Staffordshire terriers to provide them with better homes and better lives. Although Lauryn has experience in all areas, she has a passion for surgery and C.T imaging. Lauryn’s favorite things about our hospital are the atmosphere and culture, her coworkers, and how everyone plays a significant role in all parts of our patients’ care.
When not at work, Lauryn enjoys listening to music, drawing, and walking at the park with her two dogs Xenthe, a 4 year old American Staffordshire Terrier, and Thor, another 4 year old American Staffordshire Terrier.

Eric Briano

Hospital Staff

Eric recently joined the Cypress Veterinary Hospital team as one of the newest members of our hospital staff. After moving from California, Eric attended the Veterinary Technician Institute where he received his Associates Degree in Veterinary Technology. He is working towards liscensing and hopes to earn his LVT soon! He is very excited to hone his knowledge and skills at our hospital, and has a passion to learn more about surgery. Eric says his favorite thing about working at Cypress Veterinary is the friendly environment and staff.

In his free time, Eric enjoys traveling and experiencing everything Texas has to offer. You can find him listening to various podcasts such as “You’re Wrong About” and “True Crime,” and hanging out with his dog Cali.
